Protecting the organization against information leakage and industrial espionage

We examine where the organization can lose confidential information — organizationally, in personnel, digitally, spatially and behaviourally — and prepare a protection plan.

IVSR examines where the organization can lose confidential information and how a third party could exploit insider access, social engineering, poor working habits or inadequate protection of premises and devices.

The engagement connects the organizational, personnel, digital, spatial and behavioural sides of protecting trade secrets — from an inventory of the most important information to training the people who work with it.

Possible scope

The scope follows the questions the engagement must answer — not the other way round.

  1. 01An inventory of the most important information and of the persons or organizations that might try to obtain it.
  2. 02Review of possible leakage paths and of internal and external vulnerabilities.
  3. 03Risk assessment for travel, meetings, trade fairs, supplier work and remote work.
  4. 04Review of the handling of confidential documents, devices and communications.
  5. 05Training leadership and staff to recognize information-gathering attempts.
  6. 06Coordinating a professional inspection of premises and equipment on suspicion of unlawful technical surveillance, where the inspection is lawful, proportionate and performed by a qualified provider.
  7. 07Preparation of a protection plan and a response plan for suspected information leakage.

You receive

An exposure assessment, an overview of critical information, recommendations, internal procedures and a remediation plan for the identified gaps.

Who it is for

For R&D-driven companies, leadership teams, legal and HR functions, family businesses, research organizations and owners of sensitive projects.

Limitations and boundaries

  • The service does not include interception of communications or unauthorised access to systems or premises.

The concrete scope of the engagement is set after verifying its purpose, the client's authority, the legal basis, proportionality and technical feasibility. Where necessary, measures to reduce the intrusion into privacy, retention periods, access rights and the manner of documenting the handling of material are agreed before work begins.

A confidential introductory conversation

Every engagement starts with a confidential conversation in which we jointly verify the purpose, the authority and the feasibility. Only then do we propose the scope and the way of working.
